Sitting here wondering if I can pull a quote from Jim Farber’s review of the new Hole album and call it a post and it suddenly hits me how much cut and paste shtick I’ve posted today.
There will always be some but whether it is me or Helen doing it we always have an opinion on our subjects but even by our hit quota guys standard I’ve written a lotta crap today!! Here’s the clue Rock NYC readers, whenever I’m ragging on Miley I am in a hurry!!!
The thing is pretty soon I will begin moving apartments and, if all goes well, won’t have internet access till this afternoon when Time/Warner show up, and then I’ll still be up to my neck in boxes.
So my time has not been my own and thus I’ve been rushing through posts.
Anyway way, that’s my excuse.
So here is the pull quote I wanted to turn into a post by one Jim Farber: “Love has had real horrors to live through in the past few years, even if many came by her own hand. But the music she devised to reflect them communicates little vulnerability and next to no reflection. It’s whining, not confessing – a genuine life experience reduced to shtick.”
Farber is quite right. It’s depth of pain like a reality show is depth of pain.
Hope I am settled in in time to make the show!!!
