I was in the down loading mood and got the following. Some new stuff, some older stuff, some covers, some free stuff…ha-ha.
Nostradamus – Judas Priest
This is the title track from their latest double CD concept album. Killer stuff here. Guitars are outstanding. Halfords voice is incredible as usual.
Stairway To Heaven – Heart
The Wilson sisters are great. Saw them live and they were amazing. They have performed numerous Led Zep covers, and they deliver with perfection on this one.
21 Guns – Green Day and the cast of American Idiot (Live from the Grammys)
No wonder why they sold S1Million worth of tickets after this performance. I am hoping to score some free tix from the office.
Speaking of Green Day, I also downloaded Wake Me Up When September Ends cause I wanted too. Haha. Also got their cover of Like A Rolling Stone. Great work.
Hey Soul Sister and Same Me San Francisco – Train
Love the new Train song. It is funny how he mentions Mister Mister in the song as well. Took a gamble in downloading the title track as well, Same Me San Francisco – and it paid off. Excellent song. I visited SF once and loved it. Want to go back. This song is a great reminder of a great city.
Kashmir – Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds
Another Led Zep cover. I thought it was going to be the full song, but in the end it turns out to be a great acoustic instrumental rendition of this Zep classic.
Far Away and In The Morning – Wolfmother
This band is definitely on the brink of making it big. The lead singers voice and music sound as if it can be classic rock. I have their first album and loved it. I wanted to test two songs before I down load the rest of the album. I think I am going to go home and click “complete my album” on iTunes and purchase the rest of this album, Cosmic Egg.
My City of Ruins – Eddie Vedder
Springsteen cover. Great work from the Pearl Jam lead singer. I can put this song on replay 100 times.
Lastly, what I like about ITunes is that each week they offer free songs from up and coming artists. I downloaded a song called C’mon from The Soft Pack and The High Road from Broken Bells. Both songs are really nothing to write home about. Good thing they were free. I could give a couple of more listens, and then probably delete them from the library.
