As it happens, Lady Gaga cancelling isn’t all bad because i’d already gotten a tix to see Titus Andronicus opening for Vampire Weekend at United Palace on Sunday.
I love both bands but I think VW are confident to the point of foolhardiness having one of the best live bands I’ve seen in years… having seen both bands live several times i can say without a shadow of a doubt Titus are vastly superior in a live setting. Contra is gonna end up one of my faves of the year but unless they have improved and vastly, even with it being their own audience, they are gonna hafta bring it Sunday.
