On May 15th new York State failed to renew the law allowing ticket brokers to resell tickets and any price they choose to putting online ticket brokers into chaos.
Why? Because there is amendment on the bill requiring the elimination of all paper tickets.
Ok, let’s take a look.
1) Let’s say your girlfriend wamts see Bon Jovi and you don’t so you buy tix for her and her sister. Under this stupid law you can’t because only the person whose credit card bought the tix can get it. What if you’re in Denever and you wanna buy a tix for your nephew in LA. You can’t. This is the most ridiculous law in the world. Of course the reason is stop scalping well
2) Don’t worry about ticket brokers legally going about their business. Worry about ticket brokers buying 3000 front line seats by hacking into ticketmaster. Other than theft, let the market decide. Imagine all those ticketbrokers who stocked up on Eagles tix. they are eating em with a knife and spoon.
3) But heaven forfend the no knowings who are bankrupting our State get to the root of a problem when they can take all the time and efoort to SIMPLY NOT RENEW THE FUCKING BILL.
And i’ve met Andrew Cuomo -he is a rude, arrogant bully, and if you think he is gonna save the State…. I’d be one happily surprised New yorker if he did.
