Right Above It – Lil Wayne And Drake – A diary snap shot from the continuing story and it takes forever to get it’s bearing and it really sucks at first and despite a real smart strings backing track, it doesn’t seem to be able to settle. But then three minutes in, Lil Wayne gets his flows really going and in the last minute the drums beginning to seriously power the song along. It’s a thrilla but it takes awhile to thrill. Drake, who raps at the start. Useless?
Fools Rush In – She & Him – Cool as ice, Samba dance, step, step, turn, like the past 50 years never happened on the Johnny Mercer standard. She & Him -mostly because of She’s distinctive vocal style, are made to cover, and Vol II sucked because they were playing their own songs.
Big Wave – Jenny And Johnny – I feel kinda bad because I REALLY TRASHED this song but like all pop it either hooks or it don’t and it didn’t and now it does. It is classic rock the way Fleetwood Mac, Lindsay Buckingham, is. PS: Johnny is GREAT on back up and I would still love to diddle Jenny so all is cool, right guys?
