Majesty Shredding – Superchunk – Are we feuding with Superchunk? They own Merge records so I’m feeling we should be… but…. Whatever, this ain’t gonna start it. Great power punk album, every song a melodic titan. Never mind, we can fight next year. Grade: A
Daytrotter Session – Olof Arnald – Oluf’s lo-fi beauties don’t really need the Chicago studio touch. they are analogue by definition.Still, if you don’t know her, these are free and these are lovely. Grade: B+ if you own the album, A if you don’t.
Body Talk Part 3 EP – Robyn – Steve Diamond told me this was the goods and he is right. Only 5 songs, and each one starts with a beepy synth before settling into a tuneful dance mode. Grade: A
