read some tweets yesterday evening about a mysterious Thom Yorke show in LA? It was already late, at least 10pm, and nothing was sure,…but it turned out that the Radiohead man showed up around 11pm at the Low End Theory, a nightclub in Lincoln Heights, and did a DJ set of an eclectic mix of techno-funk-hip-hop, Afro-beat, some Jaylib, Burial, some Kraftwerk, Modeselektor, a lot of love for the Stones Throw label according to some magazines (Aloe Blacc was in it!), without playing any Radiohead songs. Apparently he began the set very concentrated and serious but loosened up toward the end with his now famous dance moves. Difficult to describe, I was not there…. Flying Lotus and Galamp Killer were in the background of his musical eccentricity.
People had formed a line outside the club very early, even though nobody knew for sure if God Yorke was really coming… Ha the magic of Twitter!
