This Is Official: My Fave Story Of The Day

Is this a Rock NYC post or this a cut and paste job?
I got it off NME who obviously got it off a Press Release. If it wasn’t off a press release you’d get a “told The Sun” or an “exclusive to the NME”. Everything I lifted from NME I will italize. I would love feedback from Rock NYCers and readers.
I wanna start by telling you the Hull, England  Housemartins were one of my fave bands of the eighties. Fatboy Slim started there and Paul Heaton -with Heaton’s  sweet melodies and throwing bombs at the status quo on stuff like “Happy Hour” and “Five Get Overexcited”. Very English and very socialist. A great band.
Later Heaton formed the Beautiful South, one of the most popular bands of the nineties. I saw em at the Supper Club and was completely blown away (start with “We Are Each Other”)  -I saw Belle and Sebastian at the same venue a month later and was disappointed mostly in comparison.
Why am I telling you thisBecause NME reports Paul Heaton has announced a UK tour:
“Starting in May, the ‘Pedals And Pumps’ tour will include 15 pub gigs, with the singer-songwriter cycling to each show”
Playing to promote both cycling and traditional British pubs, Heaton will cycle 720-miles in total, beginning his journey from The Rovers Return on the set of Coronation Street in Manchester.

“I’m looking forward to pedaling around the country to promote cycling and the British pub,” Heaton said about the unique tour. “Both are very close to my heart. I’ve been cycling all my life and the British pub has provided most of my favourite stop off points.”
He added: “It saddens me to hear about so many British pubs closing on a weekly basis so I want to do all I can to get people back to their local.”
Unless you have heard Heaton or have an idea as to how popular the guy is -and very, very rightly so, you have no clear concept how charitable an act this is/ The bloke is a legend -imagine Eddie Vedder doing the same thing and this is precisely how real charity, real caring, should work. As the man himself said: let love of bicycling and pubs speak up itself… from the world’s greatest mom to the oldest swinger in town…
