News: With a rebel yell they went… a contingent of Southerners held their much hated flag high above their heads when President Obama visited Oklahoma City. And there, my friends, you see freedom of speech in precise action.

Awards: Caitlyn Jenner won the Arthur Ashe Award at the Espys – while in theory I admire Caitlyn’s sexual re-alignment, it is worth noting that most people can’t afford to be remade from a 64 year old man to a 35 year old woman. If they want a poster person for sexual re-alignment I recommend they call on the indomitable, completely beautiful and braver than I’ll ever be, Ellie Lowther

Streaming: I tend to agree with Alyson on this one, Neil Young pulling his music off streaming services probably has more to do with his own streaming service than sound -after all, how great can Neil sound? What was missed on his press release was this: “It’s not because of the money, although my share (like all the other artists) was dramatically reduced by bad deals made without my consent.

Live: Foo Fighters Day!!! Draw up a chair and get ready for the relly big show… Will I have to take back every… well many of the mean things I said about Grohl? I haven’t seen em live since 1997, a couple of months after they would’ve leave the stage at Forest Hills Stadium…

Recorded: I’ve given up on the new Public Enemy, a major bummer I’ll get to tomorrow on my new releases round up. So I am left with, Neil’s newee before he takes it off streaming services and Foos before todays show.

Death: RIP Arthur Cave -far too young. Meanwhile, now the shock has worn off, Julie Burchill is heartbroken all over again after her son’s suicide at the tender age of 29.

Birth: Congratulations to One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson who will be a father this year…
