echosmith-hilary-clinton-rally-kick-off

Politics: We are off to the Presidential races with Hilary Clinton out of the gate and Echosmith performing their hit single “Cool Kids” -an astoundingly irrelevant track but so what? It’s the thought that counts. The band have apparently hung around the area, they were a guest at Taylor Swift’s Philadelphia gig on Friday, and after opening Hillary Clinton’s campaign launch at Four Freedoms Park in Roosevelt Island, New York on Saturday afternoon, played BLI’s Summer Bash. Clinton came on stage to Sara Bareilles’ “Brave”.

Live: I think there should be a moratorium on Sunday gigs that start any later than 3pm -I mean we all have work the next day, why torture us? Back in the day the likes of Elvis Presley would perform afternoon and evening shows on the weekend, Frank Sinatra would perform several times a day at the Paramount in Times Square -so would the Brit Invasion bands. Hell, the Concert For Bangladesh was performed twice. W’appen? I am guessing it is the Unions, but I don’t see why.

Recorded: The new Graham Parker And The Rumour album Mystery Glue, their second since reforming in 2010,  was released May 18th and I missed it, but following their cracker performance last night at Highline Ballroom, I am catching up.

Sports: The always streaky 2015 Yankees are on a losing streak and the teasing Mets still haven’t recovered from David Wright going down.
