News: This from the New York Times, all that fits department, from transcripts of a Times Square Gypsy Fortune Teller:
“It was just going by what they would give you,” she said. “It’s all a scam. It’s by their demeanor. I want to write a book about how Gypsies scam people out of their money.”
“You don’t think there’s any legitimate psychics out there?” she was asked.
“If they are taking your money,” she said, “they are not for real.”
Having said that, I once had my fortune told, I was maybe 15 years old, not much of it was happy, and every thing she said came true. Of course, as CG Jung was mentioned, if 100 billion people have lived, the fact that one has dreams that come true isn’t foresight, it is blind luck.
Recorded: There is so much Van Morrison to go excavating in, and so little time, I am naturally fixating on a song that isn’t there “(Straight to Your Heart) Like a Cannonball” (“Tupelo Honey” is on the essential album) and then I start searching out old faves I haven’t heard in years, “Wonderful Remark”, “Behind The Ritual”, “Quality Street” but at some stage I have to figure out I want to review em. A couple of years ago, I reviewed the whole lot and I’ve reposted it since then but I think I’ll repost it today just as a quick guide. Then myself? I’m thinking deeper reviews of the obscurer albums and some playlists. I’m simply spoiled for choice.
Live: I am attempting to cut back to five concerts a month, the pace was killing me and while I could deal with that, so was the money and that’s a whole fresh set of downs folks.
Sports – Tonight’s the night, Jets Versus Giants, and sure it looks like a gimme but at least maybe we can get one good quarter out of it.
Dow Jones: Jumped back by a 1000 points, remind me to check my 401K -always a miserable experience.
