Interview: Look I would be a lot more forgiving of Keith Richards bullshit about syncopation and hip hop, the Beatles and heavy metal, if not for his pathetic stealing of the Verve’s money circa “Bittersweet Symphony”. As Sally Timms noted, the plagiaristic born Richard, who stole off blues for decades with impunity, had the audacity to say: “Nobody steals from the Stones”. Yeah, I mean, the gall. Look, have you heard his new stuff: it is absolutely atrocious. The man can not sing a note. Shut up and sit down.

Europe: The refugees from Syria through Turkey to Europe has special resonance for me, a refugee from Lebanon myself, who escaped the civil war to the US. But I had many many opportunities these displaced families don’t. Not because I’m smart but because I was luckily born into a family with money. That’s all. Who are these poor people? At the very least, they are me.

Live: One of the quietest periods for concerts for me continues, though I may weaken and get a ticket for the Milk Carton Kids at Town Hall September 11th to keep me quiet till Madonna on September 16th.

Recorded: Still on the first day of the new releases and I am more than excited to see the Weeknd next month now I have heard the new Travi$ Scott album. Three of the best albums of the year are all neo-soul: Miguel, the Weeknd and Scott -this is the year the sound comes of age.

US Open: You know why I stopped going? Because between rain delays and late games, and games moved from day to day, I kept on wasting a hundred bucks on games I couldn’t see.
