What a day!

We woke up early and headed to Piccadilly station in Manchester to hop on the train to London.   As soon as we got there we went straight  to Hyde Park where the crowds were incredible, the vide was fantastic and, as everyone knows the UK weather sucks but today of all days the sun was out the sky was blue and the temp was in the 70’s.

We got to our spot in the Park and started to mingle with the fans.  All ages groups were there it was a great crowd and a fantastic atmosphere throughout the day.

The sound was crystal clear and the band on cracking form. The set list was wholly appropriate to the occasion. This was not a crowd of connoisseurs, it probably had more first-timers than any other UK show I’ve ever seen and they had a ball!

After the first 10 seconds where Keef fluffed his opening chords the show was outstanding – the boys looked like they were really enjoying themselves and Mick was on top form. The sound was clear and it was a great show. High spots are hard to pick in such a great show but for me, “Bitch” with Gary Clark Jr was out of this world – the band were together and on fire!!!

The Stone last played in Hyde Park in 1969 and that was a free concert Mick Jagger shouted out to the crowd “Anyone here from 1969 if so welcome back”

It all ended with fireworks and “Satisfaction” – and for fans in the crowd, satisfaction.  This certainly was for me a concert to remember.
