rock nyc contributor Anita Faragher is on a mission “To promote awareness for national artist & local musicians, concerts and events” when she isn’t writing about Hanson; and as part of her stated mission is booking the excellent West Coast rockers The Neighborhood Bullys on their first foray to the East Coast.
Alyson Camus went to see them earlier this year and here is what she had to say, but let me quote: “The quartet rocked, and rhythm-&-blues-ed the place with loud guitars, while injecting some punk riffs as well as a few jokes here and there. I just listened to one of their interviews and they said they were a cross between Ike and Tina Turner,… funny and revealing about their rocking strong roots”
I’ve listened to their EP and “(Do You Have A) Boyfriend sounds like power pop down to its parenthesis, so exppect the band to have some appeal in nyc for sure.
