The Dirty Names and they came to rock! Arlene's Grocery Friday, June 17, 2011

They are The Dirty Names and they came here to rock.

With a June residency at Arlenes Grocery in LES, rock & rollers the Dirty Names of Mid-Atlantic have been doing just that. Rocking! And it was more contagious than Ebola.

"I couldn't help but dance for that entire show! So much fun!" said Darah Golub, whom first saw the Dirty Names back in February in Baltimore, MD.

I couldn't agree more, as would all of Arlenes who was dancing non-stop throughout their entire set. Even the "too-cool for school" bunch, got their arses off the wall during "Cadillac" and were packed to the front moving by the end of their terrific set.

"What a tough act to follow. I can't even go to another show now, because I'll surely be let down" said another girl.

Pictured, you can see the intensity that lead vocalist and guitarist, Harrison Cofer, delivers to his audience every moment he is on stage. He also displays the very rare quality of shredding the shit out of his guitar as they play, even with Kit on the guitar as well, he doesn't shy away from taking control of a song. I must also add how keyboardist John Countryman completely killed his solo's, I could literally hear the panties dropping all around me. Kudos Mr. Countryman.

I nearly accompanied the Names to Toronto for North by North East Music Festival, where they embarked the second their many fans had cleared the venue. My non-existent passport was my sole deterrent. They rocked a set at the Canadian music festival Saturday night at The Bovine Sex Club.

As The Dirty Names bring rock&roll back into America, like The Beatles did in the 60's, with their high energy shows and extraordinary stage presence, they are on the frontline of the current rock tsunami that I can see them surfing for a long time. They are true ROCKstars, and I highly highly recommend you catching them this Friday as they return to Arlenes Grocery, (if you are in NYC), or June 25th, 2011 at 5:00PM at Eastport A Rockin, (if you are in DMV area).

Their newest album, "Rock & Roll Mind Control" is now available for your listening pleasure, don't skip over their hit single, with the same title as the album.

They are The Dirty Names.. and they rocked!
