The Devil Wears Prada: Warped Tour Comcast Hartford, CT: Sunday, July 17,2011

The Devil Wears Prada as a collective whole is a powerhouse.

At Warped Tour 2011, they didn't fail to be an intense, really unique presence on the tour.  Not only are they one of the greatest bands in their genre, but they spread the message of Christianity, and can still manage with the big boys.

I was in awe at the pure raw talent that was up on that stage.  They didn't need theatrics, they didn't need choreography, they didn't need anything except their instruments and equipment.  They flawlessly played through tunes like "Dez Moines", "Hey John, What's Your Name Again?", and "Danger: Wildman". Hranica's vocals were powerful, but not too much so it didn't take away from the breathtaking talent of each musician up there.

Together, TDWP not only gave it their all up on stage, but they got such a positive response from the roaring crowd that it was surreal.  So many people crowd surfed, so many people were smiling and singing along.  Sometimes it's hard to remember when you're seeing a band you just like, that they're someone's favourite band in the world, the band that means everything to them.  To see such an immense amount of people all gathered at this one event, even at this one set, was mind blowing.

"We Believe in Jesus Christ and He Believes In You", as screamed by Mike Hranica takes on a whole new level of powerful ministry.  The tones and the message are a match that can literally stop you in your tracks.  Not preaching not throwing religion at you but almost an evangelical statement.  Point blank and in your dirt covered face, pause was given at the thought that maybe, just maybe Jesus could crowd surf.  I dont mean that in a blaphemic sense at all.  Rather we all carry that within us.

The band sounded great and didn't fail to entertain, and when they had to end their set, everyone walked away with smiles on their faces, the only disappointment was that it ended.  The billows of dust and heat gave a haze to the entire event a beautiful collective filth.

The Devil Wears Prada was fantastic, and is so talented.  Why aren't they playing gigantic stadiums yet?
