That Was The Week That Was: September 7th, 2015

Sports: Football season is upon us though with the sun still out I’ve held off taking any serious serious attention to it. The Jets drew the Browns and beat em well, journeyman QB Ryan Fitzpatrick everything the lousy Geno Smith isn’t. A couple more outings like this and guess who won’t be coming back. The Giants gave one away for no reason. The Yanks saved themselves from a sweep but with 20 games to go better keep their eye on the wildcard, the Mets keep on rolling, and have their first winning season 2008. Finally,  Roger Federer lost to US Open winner Novak Djokovic.

Recorded: I moved from Travis Scott at the beginning of the week to Craig Finn, Jesse Glynne and Guilty Simpson in the middle, Garfunkel And Oates towards the end, and Madonna to close out. Today? Alabama Shakes.

Live: Last week was quiet but this week will find the return of Madonna heading the way, plus Tommy Keene and Dot Dash and Drive By Truckers and Alabama Shakes. Nothing but fun!

Death: Candida Royalle, the porn star turned porn director making erotica women might enjoy as well, was a major attraction of the 1970s golden age of porn as it sidled up to mainstream before first video and now the internet changed it forever, died at the age of 66. And Donald Trump is still alive.

Journalism: I hate Rolling Stone as much as the next person, but the Donald Trump cover story was a first rate piece of journalism by Paul Solotaroff. Whatever else you might say about Trump -I despise him myself, his three children seem to have turned out pretty well, as Paul mentions.
