Week TWO
Politics: After the murder of twelve cartoonists and members of the editorial board of the satiric French magazine “Charlie Hebdo”, the world mostly recoiled, and then Les Flics hunted the terrorists down and it ended up in a bloody shoot out leaving four hostages and two terrorists dead. The moral here is the pen is mightier than the sword unless, of course, somebody has a sword.
Live: Hollie Cook was pretty darn good but otherwise a disappointing second week of the new year, both David Cassidy and Billy Joel did not improve with a second viewing.
Recorded: Another quiet week, Rae Sremmurd, Joshua Radin, Guster, Coasts, Infected Mushrooms… yaaaawn. Catfish And the Bottlemen…
Weather: How cold was it? Not cold enough to stop nyc in its tracks but cold enough to slow it down and make it both sleepy and intense at the same time.
Sports: The NFL playoffs continued with neither the Jets nor the Giants in tow, meanwhile the Knicks continue to go where no Knicks team have gone before with a terrible 5 – 35 record and 15 consecutive losses. Phil Jackson takes responsibility and I guess we all feel a little the worse for wear.
Movies: Got round to watching the Hendrix movie, and it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. Review to come.
