Maybe the best month of the year for recorded music, it still sucked live.
Live, the highlight was a terrific Steve Earle set and a crap Kings Of Leon set at MSG that left rock nyc in controversy and hate mail for days.
recorded: Speak Now was barely a week old at the start of the month and in quick succession, for better or for worse, Cee Lo Green, Kid Cudi, LCD Soundsystem, Lloyd Banks, Nicki Minaj, Alan Jackson, Rihanna, Springsteen, an MJ single, Black Eyed Peas, My Chemical Romance, Ke$ha, Susan Boyle… and that’s just off the top of my head… all released new music.
Biggest disappointment? Kid Cudi.
