I give thanks for loads of stuff: KOL fans for keeping me in chuckles, cool writers for letting me post their stuff, a reader base who argue with us tooth and nail. And the freedom to write whatever I want, and mostly a great family, who love me despite my hermitdom!
But today I wanna give thanks to two things in paticular
1. My fave rock band Titus Andronicus and not just because they recorded the album of the year. But also because they introduced me to Cloud Nothings, who opened for them (Cloud Nothings introduced me to Kevin Greenspon and Bridgetown records). Titus introduced me to Wavves. To Free Energy. To Hilly Eye. On and on and on.
2. My girl Cyn. Cyn who is behind me all the way on rock nyc. And not only is she a little knock out but she tells me off for my editing, calms me when I go too ballistic on a band and is an altogether good woman. Along with Helen Bach, my co-editor, she is the heart of this enterprise, though unlike Helen, you never hear from Cyn. Cyn is a pretty good writer and I hope to convince her to contribute one of these days.
