During my interview with Patrick Stickles earlier this year he namechecked Manchester, England, band Television Personalities as the first to allow some frailty? Emo? The possibility of epressing more than anger in the annals of punk.
A debatle conclusion (surely the Buzzcocks beat em to it by about a year!!!) but TP is one of those bands that simply passed me by and so I went in search based upon Stickles stamp of approval and found kitchen sink drink dreams by one Dan Treacy.
Treacy’s influence is easily visible on Noel Gallagher (“Look Back On Anger” influenced “Don’t Look Back In Anger” and was named for the Brit 50s play by John Osbourne).
On June 1st expect Treacy’s latest album and this time and based soley on the name and Television Personalities I bet I bet the Titus Andronicus leader to the record store.
