My friends Alix and Ali report from MSG:
Dear Iman,
Alix and Ali here. Taylor was simply fabulous. Once we got over the fact that we were dressed like all of the 12 years olds there with their mothers, we had an amazing time.
Quick recap. She changed about 9 times. All cute sparkly dresses. She opened with You Belong With Me. When she sang Love Story it was the same performance from one of the awards shows with the castle and the quick change into a white dress on stage. She encored with Should’ve Said No and danced in the rain, like another past performance.
Everything in between was amazing too. In fact, as we were leaving Ali said “this was the best concert I’ve ever been too, even better than Britney.” Bold statement, but true. Since this was the first night of her tour, Taylor seemed completely overwhelmed by the crowd and even stated between songs that she will never forget this night. As the crowd of 12 year olds and their moms were cheering, you could see her begin to tear up on the video monitors and mouth the words “Oh my God, I am so blessed.”
She was on stage for at least 2 hours straight singing songs from both of her albums, and at the end of the concert there was not one song that I wished she had sang (except for Thug Story, but it would have been difficult without T. Pain present). The concert left us with a feeling of empowerment and appreciation that Taylor is so honest in her lyrics and is not afraid to let people into her life.
