As if I didn't love Taking Back Sunday enough.
During one of their soundchecks at Filmore Charlotte, they let a seven year old drummer named Briggs up on stage with them. Briggs posts drum covers on YouTube.
To see a seven year old with that amount of talent, first of all, is stunning. He plays extraordinarily well, and is going to be big. Watching him up there playing shows that one day he'll be a drummer in his own band and will be ten times better, if at all possible, because he is already in such an impressive place. It's crazy to see someone that young playing with a real band at a real show, is just ineffable.
On TBS' side, it's absolutely adorable. They let this kid play with them, and made his day. They were totally into it and confident in Briggs' wonderful drumming skill. The band played as normal, as if Briggs drummed for them all the time. They were all smiles as they were letting this kid live his dream.
Taking Back Sunday made the kid's day, simply by being incredibly kind and letting him play a song during their sound check.
