How about this for impressive: yesterday we noted how 8 of the top 10 albums were new to the charts, here, 9 of the top 10 singles are old to the charts. Point being, you ask? The album charts is so volatile that an album has problems spending two weeks in the charts while meanwhile the single charts are so conservative it takes a miracle to get in and then a miracle to get out.

I can’t see or, more to the point, hear the pleasure in Shawn Mendes. I thought he was OK but slight at Jungle Ball in December, and, opening for Taylor Swift this summer, it is not possible for him to bring the one band stuff the way Ed Sheeran did in 2013. Amway, what a Halestorm of mediocrity.
