Sun Goes – Paul Weller – Yee haw -Weller finds the Western in a modified reggae strut. It is an interesting without being in any way good little number. I like Weller live but on record I can’t wear the guy, call it a cultural derailment; also explaining it as to one reason UK rock doesn’t always travel: he is a creep with a bad haircut and too many crappy songs – C
The Led Zeppelin remasters-deluxe editions feel like they are a little too late however great they might be; the thing is we are in the post making money through records period and while these will sell, imagine how it would have sold in 1994.
This takes us half way through the summer and it isn’t all bad. A new Imelda May is always a pleasure, Conor Oberst new songs might have sucked so far but who is to say? Miniature Tigers, Sharon Van Etten, Levon Helm is the live one we’ve deserved with any luck, but I think the two biggest will be either Manic Street Preachers or Lana Del Rey. “West Coast” is such a great song and the Manics are always excellent.
There are simple rules to this world and one is that every time an idea because an organization, the idea dies and the organization fulfils its reason for being. RSD sucks, because it isn’t what it might once have been, a free spirited get together of likeminded folks, it is a big business collectors degeneracy
