Untimely but timely, I an helping on a cultural series of performances called music and music, when I heard about Suze Rotolo’s death from lung cancer.
A different kind of muse but the same thing in this sense: it is about the Gods of inspiration.
Suze Rotolo was Bob Dylan’s young girlfriend in 1962 (that’s her front and center on the cover of Freewheeling). In 1962, Suze left to Italy for eight months and inspired songs like “Tomorrow Is a Long Time,” “Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right” and “Boots of Spanish Leather.” in the lovesick young poet.
In Muse And Music, we explore how a persons trade inspires their craft: how manipulating our muses may be.
The loss of Suze Rotolo also reminds how fragile are muses are.
