You are probably wondering why I am telling you this. I mean, as non stories go this is pretty fucking non storyish so why bother, right?
Because I am so pissed at the Black Keys lousy performance at MSG last week, I value another chance to take a pot shot at them…. so here it goes.
Drummer Patrick Carney said to Rolling Stone (I think Alyson wrote it up awhile back): "Rock 'n' roll is dying because people became OK with Nickelback being the biggest band in the world. They became OK with the idea that the biggest rock band in the world is always going to be shit (and) therefore you should never try to be the biggest rock band in the world. Fuck that!"
Nickelback responded: "Life's too short to sweat what others think"He
Then Carney responded to MTV Carney: "I didn't mean to single them out actually, it just came out. There's much worse bands that Nickelback… maybe. That was the worst apology."
Actually, that's kinda funny but if Carney's idea of carrying the torch of rock and roll was his lackluster performance at MSG, all I have to say, it is, he is right, but only if the competition is the dreadful Nickelback.
