Over in the UK, a new documentary is airing later today on television about tax avoidance (they should do what the US does and just give everybody making over a million bucks a tax break…). According the Gigwise here is the story:

Thom Yorke has released his soundtrack to forthcoming tax avoidance documentary, UK Gold – featuring members of Elbow, Massive Attack and more.

Concerning the ever contentious subject of tax avoidance and Britain’s above and beyond involvement in the process (being involved in 50% of cases), the film is due to air on London Live tonight (Wednesday 25 February) at 8pm. It is directed by Mark Donne and narrated by actor Dominic West

It also features a stellar soundtrack by Yorke, which can be streamed via the UK Uncut website now. It features appearances from Elbow’s Guy Garvey, Euan Dickinson, Radiohead’s Johnny Greenwood and Massive Attack’s Robert Del Naja.

Following the broadcast of the documentary UK Uncut will reportedly announce a “national public call out”, aimed at the May general elections.

I’ve been listening to the album and I must admit to being very impressed, it is incidental music but with a beautiful haunting quality, we know Greenwood knows this stuff but Yorke  and everybody else involved should be pretty damn pleased with it.

More info:

The UK Gold is essential viewing. An in-depth investigation of the tax avoidance industry in the UK, The UK Gold tackles tax dodging corporations and government complicity so directly that both BBC and Channel 4 refused to run it. It is, they claimed, ‘too controversial’.

The film is directed by Mark Donne. It airs on 25th February 2015 at 8pm on London Live / Freeview 8 / Sky 117 / Virgin 159 / YouView 8. It’s also available nationwide via HD live-stream at London Live.

“Now is the time to reveal the revolving doors between government and the City that has bred lies and corruption for so long, siphoning money through our tax havens for the global super rich, while now preaching that we the people must pay our taxes and suffer austerity. Just who does our government work for?”
– Thom Yorke

It’s time to get angry. It’s time to get organised.

Join UK Uncut on the 21st of March for a creative, family-friendly and fun national day of action against the tax thieves and cuts to public services. More details coming soon. See you on the streets.”

Don’t they have Fox News there???
