As you know, I am not one to write bad reviews, but I felt I had to.
I went to the Stone Temple Pilots concert this past weekend at Jones Beach. The price of the ticket was only $10. While hanging in the parking lot, about 3 people came up to us offering tickets to the concert for free. That was a bit crazy.
From the start, I just had a feeling that it was not going to be a good show. Opening the show was Cage The Elephant. I heard of this band from ITunes. They were once the free weekly download. They have a song called “Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked” The song sounds great on record, horrible live. The bands whole set sucked.
Next came STP. They kicked ass on the opening 2 songs “Crackerman” and “Wicked Garden”. From there, it sounded like the band was just going through the motions.
Scott Weiland let his ego get the best of him. He was hiding behind his shades and awful hat. He basically stuck to himself, with hardly no interaction with the crowd or the other members of the band.
At times, the show was slow and a bit boring. You know it’s bad when myself and the three other guys I went with were all on our Blackberry’s and not even paying attention to the show.
I had a better time just hanging out in the parking lot with my friends Stu, Mark and Dave drinking a few beers and eating pizza. The cigars were good too!
The show was worth the $10, not a Pretty Penny more…Haha.
