Steve Salazar friended me on Myspace and I knew I had to listen to him ASAP. The second I got to his Myspace page, I clicked on “She’s Got Style”, a cover of the Nevershoutnever! song. The reason is because tons of people cover him, but always end up pushing their voice to sound as much like Drew as possible. Steve on the other hand sang it and made it about a million times better than the original.
Next I listened to his cover of “Everything I Ask For”, my favourite song by The Maine. To explain it in only one word, it was stunning. Absolutely stunning. Salazar’s voice is gorgeous. It’s soft, yet not tentative. Perfection.
After listening to two covers, I decided to listen to something he wrote. “Chloe” is so sincere and heartfelt and beautiful. It really shows off his talent, which is abundant.
“Dream Girl” is my favourite song on Salazar’s page. It’s so calm and peaceful. You can just feel the emotion behind it, too.
