In August 2008 a Springsteen cover band played three songs at Connoly’s charged a cover to get in. That doesn’t make any sense but let’s pass on it for now
Connoly have refused to pay ASCAP royalties and Springsteen and ASCAP have decided to make an example of em.
ASCAP said: “We had been after them (Connolly’s) for complying for over two years, so it’s not so much about who or where. Why should those places that are complying with the law be at a competitive disadvantage?”
