You can't say we didn't tell you. Spotify are adding a mind numbing 8,000 subscribers a day. According to Fast Track, they have added 500,000 subscribers since November alone.
This makes them more popular to Netflix and Sirius XM.
And this isn't a surprise.
If you care at all about popular music, you must have Spotify. For $10 a month, 90% of my music needs are met and I am a fussy bastard. I don't know how else to express this, it is like I've died and gone to heaven AND I ALREADY TAKE IT FOR GRANTED. That I can walk out of a show, time in some obscure bands name (I recently did this with Clinical Trails and with Jump Into The Gospel) and have their music available with streaming. No, I don't own it. But what does own mean?
I understand why kids like my 18 year old friend Alec Dupuis thinks anything is too much to pay for music, when he can get it all on Youtube for free. But for those of us who don't wanna dick around with youtube playlists, this is the bomb.
Meanwhile, Spotify have announced that 20% of all free subscribers have become paid subscribers and Facebook have been responsible for 7 million new paid subscribers. Any comments?
