The print boys NYC decided yesterday was opening day for the terrible, except for ten minutes here and there, Spiderman: Turn Off The Dark (what the hell does that mean… that’s a name??? I’ve had a bitch remembering it since day one. How do you turn off dark???) amd… New york times called it sheerly inept. “Spider-Man is not only the most expensive musical ever to hit Broadway; it may also rank among the worst.”
But I’ve already reviewed it so lets cut to the money shot: thr Daily News on the score: “Except for the anthem “Rise Above,” songs by Broadway rookies Bono and The Edge of U2 lack hooks to make them stand out. As if written in invisible ink, tunes are there and then slip from your mind.”
Actually, “Rise Above” is dreadful but that’s neither here nor there.
Let me dumb it down AGAIN.
1. Kill the Geek chorus.
2. Lots more flying fights.
3. And for fucks say Bono write some fucking songs.
