Skate and Surf Festival 2013(Fall Out Boy Will Be There!)

What're you doing May 18th and 19th?  Are you within a reasonable distance to New Jersey?  Well then you better get yourself to the Skate and Surf Festival in Freehold, NJ.

I'd never heard of this festival until today, when I was told that I'm going to be there the first night!  After screaming a little over the fact that that meant I'd be seeing FALL OUT BOY, I decided to look up who else I'll be seeing that day.

On May 18th, FOB is the headliner.  As if that wasn't perfect enough, Transit, Balance and Composure, Into It. Over It., and even Streetlight Manifesto (along with many others) will be there that day.  The little festival has 5 stages; it's basically a mini-Warped Tour.  The lineup is so good and those aforementioned bands are some of my favourites.  It’s a lot better than a lot of the past WTs have been, that's for sure.  Considering I have no idea what to really expect, all I can imagine is a Warped environment; from what I can tell, that’s what it’s compared to.

The Skate & Surf Tour has been on hiatus for the past eight years.  S&S was founded in 2002, and eventually snowballed into Bamboozle.  Bringing back this tour of underground and multigenre musicians is super exciting and I'm proud to say I'll be there for the comeback.  And also seeing freakin' Fall Out Boy.  Whoever put that together is my hero; not only is the band back and in action, but the festival is, too.  That's so perfect because they're going back into this scene together.

May 19th has an (almost) equally wonderful lineup.  Some of the best include: A Day To Remember, Bayside, and Hostage Calm.  All three of those bands are phenomenal performers, especially ADTR.  Those who are staying for that day, too, are in for a treat because there's also a poet and documentary that day; this festival is just full of surprises.

Tickets are on sale and you can check out the full lineup and learn more here:
