Nostalgia is for suckers and listen if you want width or depth forget the foucking sixties,
And if you were gay, black, a woman… FORGET THE SIXTIES.
And for fuck’s sake tjje hippies. Nobody needs me to draw a line between their utopian agricultural, drug addled commune fueled daydream and the dystopia it might have unleashed.
Oh and, sure the sixties were great if you lived on the coasts and weren’t: black, gay, female, or different. Or a drop out unless you wanna go to Vietnam.
IF THE DRAFT EXISTED TODAY IT WOULD MAKE ALL THOSE COOL ANTI-WAR PROTESTERS LOOK LIKE BABES IN THE WOOD.
Oh yeah, the music..
Most of it sucked but that goes without saying. Really. Go back and check out my track by track review of the Woodstock soundtrack from last year if you don’t believe me. But fine, most music sucks every decade. if it was easy where would be the trick, right? But a) the soundsystem was crappy and if the place was loud you couldn’t hear the band (a plus if it was Jerfferson Airlane of course). But it isalmost a joke to compare our world, where more amusic is released in any given week than IN THE ENTIRE YEAR 1966.
SO THE SIXTIES SUCKED AND STOP RAMMING IT DOWN MY THROAT BECAUSE I DON’T GIVE A SHIT!!
