Sir Paulie Hitch Hikes

Sure, Idda LIKED to have seen McCartney at the Apollo, but really, whatever. i’ve seen him so ever.
EXCEPT
In honor of the venue he covered Marvin Gaye’s “Hitchhike” . I just saw Gaye perform it on the T.A.M.I. Show this summer and it was plenty great, a cool dance as well with thumb out and knees bent.
Woulda loved to see it live.
This is what NYT said: “In the middle of the set, out of respect for the stage, Mr. McCartney introduced a song by an old Apollo star, Marvin Gaye. It was “Hitch Hike,” which the Beatles played during the “Let It Be” sessions but never recorded, and it was going pretty well, with six women dancing on a platform behind the stage, “Ready Steady Go!” style.”
Then the speakers blew out!!
Whatever, McCartney’s superb Run Devil run is full of superb 60s covers (the best? “She Said yeah”) and I would love love love to hear Sir Paulie’s take on “Hitch Hike”, Here is hoping they mp3 it soon.
