Simple Plan, "Get Your Heart On"

Mark your calendars for June 21st!

Simple Plan's new album Get Your Heart On is coming out that day!

Not only is it a couple of days into my summer vacation, but I'm thinking it could definitely be a big part of my summer soundtrack.

Simple Plan was my very first "rock" concert, at Six Flags amusement park in Springfield, Massachusetts in I believe 2004.  It was great and unforgettable, and they were my favorite band for a super long time.  I got the tour shirt and wore it so often.  It was a school night and I felt so cool because I was staying up late, that is until I realized that sleep is way cooler.

Simple Plan was one of those bands that I can honestly say got me into loving music.  From them branched off my listening to Fall Out Boy, Panic! At The Disco, and My Chemical Romance.

I wouldn't be writing this right now if I hadn't just heard "Shut Up" on the radio and asked my parents to take me to a show.  That concert was my first glimpse into the outrageous world of moshing and crowd surfing.  Only 8 years old, I couldn't really see the stage but I saw the crowd and I felt the excitement.

Simple Plan changed my life.  I'm hoping their new album will bring back memories and maybe win over the next generation of alternative fans.
