I went into this wanting to bash. Ive been doing alot of that and I’m on a roll.
But the truth is I cant.
KISS is playing for the kids.
Honest.
They will give up to 4 lawn tickets to children for each paying adult. That’s all nice and cozy and great marketing from the old timer but what struck me most or what actually made me love tis was the quote from tongue-man Gene Simmons,
It’s time to give back,” – hopes to show the youths “that there’s another world out there besides Hannah Montana and the Jonas Brothers. It’s important for them to see how the big boys do it. There’s no tapes. There’s no background singers backstage. There’s no click tracks. It’s important for the kids to see that whatever you see on stage is real. We want to spread this. I’m insulted by any act that goes up there with dancers and tapes. It’s insulting.”
KISS paved the way. They were training wheels of rock and roll to my generation. So to see this is rather refreshing and shockingly accurate.
They play all over New York in August. Take a peek.
