If you’ve been reading Rock NYC for the past two weeks you will be well aware of our love of punk rock group For Science and out attempts to track em down.
We found them.
Well, we found the guitarist and writer of all their music and most of their lyrics, the incomparable Joe Steinhardt. Unfortunately For Science called it a day before we’d even heard of them.
It must get real old knowing you can write everything from piano instrumental “Tara” to power ballad “A Rage Against Heaven” and not even include a coupla dozen of the best punk pop songd ever written by any one and not have the world fall to its knees.
Steinhardt formed Don Giovanni records and replied to mine and fellow For Science’s fanatic Helen Bach’s request in every medium for a talk by agreeing to go on the record on Tuesday. In Helen’s infamous words “FCK I”M STALKIN EM”
Helen and I can’t wait. It’s not often you get to talk to a songwriter as gifted as this bloke, Joe. No, really, I know this stuff. He is that good. .And that doesn’t even mention that Joe is the guy behind the great Don Giovanni Records -another buncha guys I’ve wanted to talk to since November!!
For now, go and buy “Headaches” and play it while you read!!
