Helen bach wrote about Aaron Gillipsie, former Underoath singer, embrace of Christianity. Though a Churchgoer herself, she felt Aaron was preaching and patronozing and that there was no room for it in rock and roll.
I don't see it that way.
1. Rock lends itself to extreme emotions -faith is one of the strongest.
2. Proselytezing by any means possible is the responsibility of any member of a faith.
3. R&B is what happened when Ray Charles put secular lyric to Gospel. Christ was here first.
4. There may well be some crap spirituals , Gospel, etc., but there are some great ones as well. What would you give up/
5. It reeks of self-censorship.
Sp, sorry Wheels, I can't follow you down this one…
