Robert Johnson sold his soul at the crossroads to the devil to play the blue and seventy-one years later it is still paying dividends. I may not be a big blues fan but I’m a big enough blues fan to be in awe of this guy. If you have never heard his complete works it is an earth shattering thing as, one rehearsal after another, Johnson nails songs like “Love In Wain” over and over.
The Associated Press announce that Johnson’s birthplace is to be refurbished into some type of museum…. “a well-crafted home built by his stepfather in the Mississippi town of Hazlehurst. Local officials want to restore the home in hopes of drawing Johnson fans and their tourism dollars to Copiah County, about 100 miles from the Delta region that most bluesmen called home.”
Those delta blues boys never die they just get stupified.
