Roast Beef Curtains Are Fun: I Didn’t Name Them by Todd Leibowitz

The Roast Beef Curtains!
I didn’t come up the name, but you can’t get any more original than that.
This local Long Island band is a mix of reggae, with a little punk thrown-in and they have that “feel good” appeal to them. Sorta like Bob Marley and a bit of Jimmy Buffet.

Lead singer Andrew Gedacht says “We consider ourselves a ‘Pleasure band’”. That happens to be the name of their EP now available at the bands website, www.theroastbeefcurtains.com or on ITunes. I am listening to the EP now, and thinking that I should be at a beach bar with a Corona in my hand. This EP only has 5 songs, but fear not, a full length album is due to drop in 2011. I hope to catch these guys live real soon.
The band was formed in 2005 by three Hofstra University grads who decided to take to the music scene full time. They play at various venues all over Long Island plus did a stop at the Nationally known Bonnaroo Music Festival in Manchester, TN. Plus appeared earlier this year on the WPIX-TV Morning Show.
The Roast Beef Curtains is:

Andrew Gedacht: Vocals, Guitar
John Carey: Bass, Backing Vocals
Mike Celano: Drums
Jimmy McGerald: Melodica
Again, check out the bands website at www.theroastbeefcurtains.com or on Facebook and MySpace.
