Ricky Gilliano, Michael Jackson Impersonator: That Might Be Me

A Michael Jackson impersonator, Italian Ricky Galliano, says it may be his voice on the upcoming Michael album. Apparently he was paid 2,000 Euros to sound as much like Michael as he could in June of this year. Ricky sang on 21 tracks.

This follows Randy Jackson, Michael’s brother, claiming executors of MJ’s will had been searching everywhere for MJ vocals. Certainly an odd claim since there is a ten year contract for new material signed with SONY.

I’ve written a couple of times how impressed I have been with the self control SONY have shown in releasing new MJ material. What if there isn’t much there? Surely, a far more likely scenario than Sony worrying about quality control. What if it is Ricky?

Sony swear up and down that is all MJ but that Akon song wasn’t all MJ, it was all Akon. “Breaking News”, the other MJ track, has even less MJ. And the third track which streamed on Michael Jackson’s vaults website had to be apologized for, being an old track as many MJ fans noticed immediately.

On the other hand, what songs was Ricky singing on that could be used on new tracks?

If Sony and bank appointed executors John McClain and John Branca aren’t playing it straight they will not only end up in court, not only end up shooting the dead hen than laid the golden egg, they will be the perpetrators of an “F As In Fake” that will make all other fakers look like the real thing.

God, I hope so.
