If you’re ever on a bus, or in a car, and you have your headphones in and you’re staring out the window at a horribly rainy day, give these songs a listen.
1. The Middle(Acoustic)- We The Kings. It’s a great cover of the Jimmy Eat World version. It brings back memories to me rocking out in the car when I was really little, loudly but happily singing the wrong words.
2. Passion For Publication(Acoustic)- Anarbor. His voice is gorgeous, but this acoustic version accentuates it even more. It’s a beautiful version of the original song, and I like it better than the first one.
3. Backbone(Acoustic)- There For Tomorrow. Unbelievable guitar playing and a catchy melody makes this song one to dance around to even if it is acoustic.
4. The Silence(Hurley Studio Acoustic)- Mayday Parade. Almost ten times better than the original version, Mayday Parade makes a song I never really liked much to one that’s captivating and addicting. Untouchable harmonies are icing on the cake, making it an outstanding song.
5. TGIF- The Secret Handshake. Lots of plays on words, I take back what I said about not liking his music because I definitely do now. His lyrics are great and the hooks are something no one could ever think of.
6. Punch-Drunk Love- The Summer Set. There’s not a single negative note about this song. The words along with the acoustic guitar make this a powerful tune that everyone should get hooked on.
7. Something Good Can Work- Two Door Cinema Club. This song has lately been the one I’ve been begging my friends to listen to. I can’t listen to it without moving along. Easy to listen to and so creative, it’s not like anything I’ve heard before.
8. Skin and Bones- Motion City Soundtrack. The lyrics are Facebook-status worthy, and it makes you want to start up a band and do a cover of it. Thought-provoking and not too heavy at the same time, MCS makes a great rainy day band.
9. Nothing Matters- The Rocket Summer. I can never skip this song when it comes up on shuffle. I hum it in the hallways, sing it on the bus, and blast it when I’m home alone.
10. My Heart is the Worst Kind of Weapon- Fall Out Boy. I can easily say that I haven’t listened to FOB in months. Patrick’s voice is like an angel and I fell back in love with this song again.
