The Quiet Beatle Shuffled by Iman Lababedi

I don’t dislike Harrison, I’ve listened extensively to his solo work, but I do have my problems with him.  I go along with the idea he was alright for two songs a Beatle album.

Still no excuse for missing his 67th birthday on February 25th!!

So Let’s shuffle him up and see what we find!!!

Thanks For The Pepperoni – Chuck Berry inspired jam and the definition of useless.

That’s The Way It Goes – Too (dark) hoarse by half, but with it’s slide and it’s margarittaville vibe would fit on a Jimmy Buffet album.

Save The World – This is random and nearly nothing off Somewhere In England woulda cut it.

My Sweet Lord – Naughty boy.

Taxman – From the essential… Live In Japan. I miss the cough at the beginning.

All Those Years Ago – The Lennon tribute and not bad at all -except the lyric doesn’t quite happen,

Got My Mind Set On You – Finally, we can all agree on this Tom Pettyish rocker -or is that wilbury…? It is actually a cover from 1962.

Mystical One – Gone Troppo is his second best solo album and this tribute to you know who is pure harrison

I Want To Tell You – Absolutely flawless -his best contribution on the best Beatles album. That fucking riff is unbelievable -it is so beautiful and rumbling. It could fuel a hundred songs and has.

Beware Of Darkness – His accent is so thick on this song and Spector’s production so thick and intense.

If Not for You – Written with Dylan and a solo peak.

Blue Jay Way – A bad trip

When We Was Fab – Hey, I thought he hated being fab.

Any Road – OK, I cheated. But still his last great song and off his final album.
