A South of the Border revenge fantasy cartoon tied to Shrek survivor Puss In Boots back story, is an intermittently enjoyable romp through cliche and fairytale made ftolerable by Antonio Banderas fun line readings and Salma Hayek as the feline with the softest paws.
Orphan Puss and brother-in-aloneness Humpty Dumpty are raised together and raising Cain while searching for the magic beans which will take them to the Giant's lair and the Goose that lays the golden egg.
After a failed bank robbery, the pair reunite to rob the Bonnie and Clyde of a never never land, Jack And Jilll; the couple want to make one last score and retire. The story drags, the multi-culti gags are lame and old but the story holds together more or less and Puss has a way with both "leche" and "meow"
The movie has some good puns but really the Shrek franchise never improved on the first movie.
Musically, Henry Jackman has some sub-Ennio Morricone Western back light and Rodrigo Y Gabreila adds some flamenco for a pretty good dance sequence.
