Upon getting my Blackberry Curve today(purpleberry as I like to call it), I found out I could reuse the old SD card from one of my first cell phones (with music!) in it! After finally finding the sad old relic I put it on shuffle and reminisced considering this was the music I listened to when I was about ten.
1. “The River”- Good Charlotte. Incredibly catchy, and I completely forgot about this album as a whole. This song used to be one of my favourites and I’m so glad I found it again.
2. “Now Or Never”- Madina Lake. I remember in a dance class I did at a theatre camp, dancing to this song. It really inspired me as a little girl who had just met a straight iron and hair dye. It brings back so many memories.
3. “11:11 pm”- All American Rejects. Pretty much one of the very first rock albums I ever bought with my own money. This song is addictive and it’s fun.
4. “The Great Escape”- Boys Like Girls. Remember when Boys Like Girls was actually good? Yeah, that was this album. Their first big hit and the first song I ever heard from them.
5. “I’ll Let You Live”- Taking Back Sunday. Taking Back Sunday has to be one of my favourite bands of all time. This song is perfect and it’s one of those tunes that you’ll be humming for weeks.
6. “You And Me”- Plain White T’s. Adorable lyrics, a melody that’s easy to remember, and even if it’s a plain and simple song, it leaves an impression.
7. “The Take Over, The Break’s Over”- Fall Out Boy. Fall Out Boy definitely inspired me as a musician and as a music lover. Each of their albums have changed me in some way, and this song is great along with everything else they’ve done. What a truly life changing band.
8. “You’re So Last Summer”- Taking Back Sunday. Can I just reiterate how much I love TBS? This song is so great and it’s fantastic when you’re just laying and relaxing and listening to music.
9. “Saturday”- Fall Out Boy. I used to listen to this song every Saturday, and I had to because it was the title. I also would jump around in my bedroom to this song, heck the entire album, shamelessly thinking FOB was the coolest band ever.
10. “The End”- My Chemical Romance. I remember when my mom wouldn’t let me have the cover to this cd, because of the lyrics and pictures. Regardless, this entire album, The Black Parade, was a huge influence on me.
So glad I rediscovered these songs. Thank god for the Blackberry.
