“Skinny Gene” is a whistling, slap clap dash piece of pure pop that is already a hit in the UK, and with the pretty teen Eliza flashing her gams, might hit really, really big in the States.
But might not.
The rhythm is a touch too twee, it doesn’t move like dance (which is kinda odd, because Eliza’s last album was all dance). It is kinda Lily Allen redux.
And yet again, her record label Parlophone is big and legendary… I dunno I can see her hitting huge. Just not sure this is the song to do it.
