1. Blurred Lines – I don’t see that there is any doubt this is the song of the summer, but og the year? Close competition from “Get Lucky”… – A
2. We Can’t Stop – Miley Cyrus – Her finest moment is an ode to hedonism and rebellion – A
3. Hold On, We’re Going Home – Drake – I’ve resisted this songs charm but it is really an excellent soul groover – A-
4. Royals – Lorde – No denying the hook here – B+
5. Mirrors – Justin Timberlake – It is really two songs which is why it lasts so long… fortunately both songs are awesome! – A
6. Bound 2 – Kanye West – You know, he coulda made an album like this if he felt like it – A
7. Closer – Tegan And Sara – Wow, where are the plaid shirts and well bitten fingernails? Terrific sex song will do more for same sex than “Same Sex” – A
8. Applause – Lady Gaga – Lady Gaga’s astoundingly underrated ARTPOP’s first sing was better than “Roar” and “Wrecking Ball” combined – A
9. Body Party – Ciara – Smooth r&B – B+
10. The Way – Ariana Grande – This is a very good modern hip hop soul song but she was so bad at Jingle Ball, maybe the truth is she’s a studio confection – B+
11. Strated From The Bottom – Drake – The least Drake like song! Weird vocal hook – A-
12. Heart Attack – Demi Lovato – Catchy mainstream pop, love the verse but the chorus not so much – B+
13. Ain’t It Fun – Paramore – Really catchy power pop – A-
14. Best Song Ever – One Direction – If it is this easy, why is there only one of them?
15. Wrecking Ball – Miley Cyrus – It did the job but I can’t say I like this power ballad – C
16. Suit & Tie – Justin Timberlake And Jay Z – I remain completely unconvinced by this one . The tempo puts me off – C+
17. Power Trip – J. Cole and Miguel – Yeah, I guess Miguel is a talented fellow – B
18. Safe And Sound – Capital Cities – Bad rock song, strong beats – C
19. Heartbreaker – Justin Bieber – Bieber had a good year musically, his weekly songs was mostly triumphant, including this song – A
20. Roar – Katy Perry – Because I didn’t by the huge hook, the song never clicked for me – C
