PJ Harvey Discards Songs

The much loved, very weird, PJ Harvey shouldn't worry so much, the first time ever two times Mercury Prize recipient recently told the Times:

"I could too easily write the same record again and again, so if I realise a song is similar to something I've already done, I throw it out. It gets harder as I get older because I have to write a lot more material and end up throwing out seventy five percent of it. It's hard to not do what comes naturally. But you have to challenge yourself."

Hmmm, I'd be happy to hear her sing variants on "Low Snake Moan" for the rest of her career.

Let's grade her shall we?

So, pretty terrific, right? Plus, she got the best performance ever from Thom Yorke. PS I missed the John Peel album because I haven't heard it.
